Overview
What is the Autofacer?
The Autofacer is a tool that allows the operator to reach through the bore to the back side of a part and automatically machine a circular form. When the cutter tip passes through the back of the bore, the blade opens and the operation begins. This is made possible by the cutter tip folding into the tool body.
Circular form refers to: face, flat counterbore, tapered counterbore, chamfer, spherical radius and combinations thereof.

- Friction clutch mechanism: Highly reliable system that opens and closes the cutter tip, guaranteeing the operation
- Mechanical lock-open: Cutter tips are mechanically held open during operation — excellent results in interrupted cuts
- In-bore bearing: The Autofacer body bears in the bore during cutting — safe operation at carbide speeds at long length-to-diameter ratios
- Custom cutter geometry: Custom inserts and cutter tips manufactured at the NY facility — multiple operations can be combined into one
