GMO Micro Hole Deburring Tool
German-patented (DE 103 57 404) micro hole deburring system. Front and back deburring in a single step for hole diameters from 0.8 mm to 7.5 mm. Carbide blades, modular and economical.
- Deburring very small holes from 0.8 mm
- Front and back deburring in a single step
- Replaceable carbide blades — long life, low cost
- Fast deburring in series production
- CNC and drill press compatible
Overview
What is GMO?
The GMO tool was developed for simple and reliable deburring of the inner edges of drilled holes. It is possible to deburr just the inner edge or both edges in a single step. Burrs from intersecting holes can also be easily removed. The method is protected by German patent number 103 57 404.
- Adjustable hole diameter range from 0.8 mm to 7.5 mm
- Very fast deburring process — ideal for series production
- Easy blade replacement — low cost with replaceable consumables
- Robust and slim design — works on any machine
Components
GMO System Components
The GMO system consists of four main components: holder, insert, blade and spring. Each component is selected based on the application.
1 — Holders
Holder Types
3 different holder types are available:
- Standard — general-purpose use
- Standard (with clamping surface) — more secure clamping
- XL — for use with stronger springs
2 — Inserts
Insert Selection Table
The insert is mounted on the holder. It has an alignment channel for blade placement. As hole diameter increases, the channel moves further from the center axis.
| Insert Type | Hole Diameter (mm) |
|---|---|
| E00 | 0.8 – 2.5 |
| E05 | 2.5 – 3.5 |
| E10 | 3.5 – 4.5 |
| E15 | 4.5 – 5.5 |
| E20 | 5.5 – 6.5 |
| E25 | 6.5 – 7.5 |
3 — Blades
Blade Types and Selection
Blades are replaceable consumables. Durability depends on the material being machined (approximately 5,000 parts in average hardness steel). Three different forms are available:
- Normal form — single-edge sharp, inner edge deburring only
- Special form /B — double-edge sharp, inner and outer edge deburring
- Special form /25 — for cross-drilled holes into narrow bores
| Blade Type | Hole Diameter (mm) |
|---|---|
| S08 | 0.8 – 1.0 |
| S10 | 1.0 – 1.2 |
| S12 | 1.2 – 1.5 |
| S15 | 1.5 – 2.0 |
| S20 | 2.0 – 2.5 |
| S23 | 2.5 – 7.5 |
Application-specific blade forms can also be manufactured on request.
4 — Springs
Spring Selection Table
8 different spring types are available: 4 for standard holders, 4 for XL holders. Correct spring selection is critical for deburring success.
| Spring Type | Spring Force | Holder |
|---|---|---|
| F40 | Low | Standard |
| F50 | Medium | Standard |
| F55 | Strong | Standard |
| F63 | Extra strong | Standard |
| F63 | Low | XL |
| F80 | Medium | XL |
| F90 | Strong | XL |
| F100 | Extra strong | XL |
